Show up.
Be seen.
Keep the portrait.

Between Us is a 7-week free creative portrait studio in Emeryville, open to anyone. Each week brings a new hand-built set, a new theme, and a new invitation to show up and be seen.

Each theme is intentionally drawn from the full range of what it means to be alive right now: the celebrations and the uncertainties, the milestones and the in-between moments, the quiet weight of becoming and the joy of just being here.

Week by week, portraits accumulate. And what starts as individual images slowly becomes something else - a collective picture of what this neighborhood is carrying, feeling, and celebrating right now, and the realization that most of us are carrying the same things.

At the close of the residency, every portrait comes together as a single installation. A portrait of the community itself. Proof that none of us move through this alone.
