What to Expect

A photo walk is exactly what it sounds like - a slow, intentional walk through the neighborhood with a camera in your hand and permission to notice things.

We'll meet at the portrait studio at 11AM, spend about an hour wandering trough Emeryville, and end back where we started to share what we found. You'll get a bingo card at the start: a loose prompt list of things to look for, find, and photograph along the way.

Bring whatever camera you have. Your phone is perfect. A disposable works. A DSLR you've been meaning to dust off - bring it. This is about learning to see your neighborhood, not about gear.

The goal is simple: to take stock of where we are. The mundane, the overlooked, the beautiful thing you've walked past a hundred times without stopping. It's all here. We're just going to look at it together.
