Part of the Liminality series, Umbra and Echo reflects on thresholds and in-between states: the tension of indecision, the rhythm of overthinking, and the coexistence of clarity and chaos.

Hand-stretched sheer organza silk layers the front and back of a painted wooden frame. Each side is painted with linework. a darker blue on the back, a lighter on the front to create depth and movement. When illuminated by direct light, the two painted layers merge, casting a pair of shadows: one crisp, one soft. That convergence flattens the illusion of depth, much like the way strong emotion can collapse nuance into a single feeling.
